How Does It Work?
Through regular facial expression, the muscles of the face contract. Over the years this can create lines and wrinkles in the face that can become present at rest, this process can be further accelerated by other factors including stress, sun exposure, smoking, alcohol intake and hormonal influences. During facial expression, a message is sent via nerves from the brain to the muscles instructing them to contract.
Treatment Delivery
Anti-wrinkle injections can block this message meaning the muscles are unable to crease the skin. This treatment has a wide range of applications to treat the full face. The most commonly requested indication for anti-wrinkle injections is to smoothen out lines on the forehead, frown lines and lines around the eyes (crows feet).
HOW LONG WILL TREATMENT LAST?
Anti-wrinkle injections typically last 3-6 months. As the effects wear off muscle action gradually returns, the lines and wrinkles reappear and require re-treatment. However, with time the lines and wrinkles appear less severe.
